The Armenian saying "help others rise, as you rise" was an aphorism I've been raised with. Lending a hand, promoting welfare, and resources to others has always felt gratifying. Philanthropy reminds me to be humble as there have been many times I had the fortune of someone investing in me, and it is my duty to invest in others. In the fall of 2011 I became the Fundraising Manager of The Hidden Road Initiative non-profit. This organization connects Armenian mobile villages to the main city of Yerevan with a virtual bridge such as the Internet. In addition to providing access to information, they host summer camps for children, provide resources, and rebuild schools to provide adequate education for village children to have the same opportunities as city folk.
